Brighton business selected in top five for startup competition

BRIGHTON BUSINESS SELECTED IN TOP FIVE FOR STARTUP COMPETITION
Brighton, CO – High Country Catering, a local Brighton company established in 2016, has been selected as one of five semifinalists for the StartUp North Adams County Pitch Competition.
StartUp North, the first-ever Adams County Pitch Competition, invited eligible small businesses and startup companies throughout the county to apply for a chance to win one of three cash prizes ($15,000/$5,000/$2000) plus donated business services. The application period ended September 30. Ten of the companies that applied were selected for interviews and the top five were selected to move forward.
The top five companies are:
Dingo Diner & Spa, a Westminster company that provides personalized, attentive service in a convenient, comfortable, upscale environment for you, while offering quality accessories, all-natural pet foods and eco-friendly services for your best friend.
Garrett Brown Designs, a Northglenn company that specializes in creating unique interiors and furniture to complement your design aesthetic and offers a complete line of services, both custom builds and stock furniture designs to meet your design needs.
The Good Couch LLC, a Northglenn business that specializes in the refurbishment and sale of used couches, loveseats, sectionals, and sets offering a proprietary 5-step restoration process to ensure every piece of furniture is exceptionally clean and in working condition.
High Country Catering, a Brighton business that offers catering and a variety of meal prep, catering for parties, outdoor events, weddings, holiday parties, birthday parties, corporate events, picnics, anniversaries and special events with plans to expand services to include a commercial commissary kitchen, cooking & baking Classes and expanded meal prep.
[M]otherboard Birth, a Northglenn startup company that provides evidence-based education, collaboration through HIPAA-compliant messaging systems, and integration within hospitals to help busy nurses and care providers listen to families efficiently, resulting in better patient satisfaction, better outcomes, and the reduction of birth trauma.
These five companies will now provide detailed business plan for a committee to review and three of the companies will be selected to pitch their business plans to a panel of expert judges in front of a live audience on November 8.
The entire community is invited to help us celebrate small business and entrepreneurship by registering to attend the StartUp North pitch competition on November 8, 2018 at the Brighton Armory Performing Arts Center, 300 Strong Street, Brighton 80601. The celebration is free and open to the public and will include complimentary snacks and beverages, giveaways for the first 100 registered attendees, as well as prize drawings/door prizes (so bring your business card)!
