The Brighton Youth Commission is a group of dynamic youth and adults commissioned by the City of Brighton who develop ideas and put concepts into motion that support a more youth and family friendly community. The BYC works both with the city and independently to improve Brighton for all its inhabitants, especially youth; providing youth with the opportunity to be a voice for change in their community, and creating an environment beneficial to both personal and leadership development. They are representatives for the city and their schools. The Brighton Youth commissioners meet twice a month, participate in community events and special service projects throughout the year, and attend leadership development events several times a year.
