Meet Our New President & CEO

Dear Chamber Members,

On behalf of the Greater Brighton Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, I am excited to introduce Naomi Colwell as our new Chamber President & CEO. We conducted a nearly a two-month long, nationwide search and utilized a hiring committee made up of board members and chamber members that ultimately resulted in hiring of Ms. Colwell. Naomi will begin her role on Monday, March 13, and she is excited to bring her experience, passion, and enthusiasm to Brighton!

Naomi is an accomplished executive-level business development professional with over 18 years of chamber of commerce and visitor bureau experience. Her extensive knowledge and background brings essential leadership and guidance to take the Greater Brighton Chamber of Commerce to the next level and provide the services, programs, and attention that the membership wants. Naomi prides herself on being skilled at building strong business relationships and implementing highly effective out-of-the-box solutions to support business development efforts.

In her current role as the Director of Marketing for the Aurora Chamber of Commerce, she developed strong professional networks within the community to build new business opportunities for members. She is also highly skilled at leading special events that attract visitors, fosters business, and increases the community’s return on investment. Naomi played an integral role in the vision and implementation of the Firecracker Softball Tournament at the Aurora Sports Park which brought a return on investment of approximately $15M annually to the community. This is a national tournament our very own Brighton Bulldogs Girls’ Softball team has won several times!

We owe a debt of gratitude to our Membership Services Manager Beth Slattery who did an excellent job continuing the business of the chamber during this time of transition. In addition I’d like to thank our Board for working tirelessly over the past two months to ensure the Chamber continued to meet your needs and held its strong position in the community.

Our goal over the next 90 days is to meet with members to gain valuable feedback to ensure we are providing the right programs and services to support your business moving forward. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me directly at (303) 359-8539 or via email.

A Message from Our New President & CEO:

Naomi Colwell, New President & CEO of the Greater Brighton Colorado Chamber of CommerceI am excited about the opportunity to meet the Brighton Business community and learn how I can serve the membership. The Chamber exists to bring visibility, viability, and success to its members, and together we will work to increase the financial strength and bring innovative programs to the Brighton business community.

On a personal level, I have two amazing daughters off to college, and an awesome husband whose jobs with the Aurora Police Department and US Navy keep me busy with support roles when I’m not working. We are a multi-cultural family with my mother being from Okinawa, and my mother in law from Panama. I love being outside, riding my bike, and attempting to play golf.

I have enjoyed my time at the Aurora Chamber and look forward to this next adventure—discovering new energy, and sharing and implementing ideas that will be right for Brighton!

One Response to Meet Our New President & CEO

  1. I don’t know a lot about the Greater Brighton Chamber of Commerce, but I do about Naomi Colwell. I have the distinct pleasure of being a part of the W.A.C.E. [Western Association of Chamber Executives] Academy with her. The Academy is a very intensive, 3-year program in which chamber executives from the Western United States learn time-tested best practices in the industry. During that time, I had the opportunity to work with her, learn about her passion, work ethic and approachable nature. She had a wealth of knowledge and is a wonderful person. I say all of that to say this… Naomi is an absolute class act, with a special knack for identifying needs and producing results. The Greater Brighton Chamber of Commerce really has a great find in hiring her. Best of luck to both Naomi and the chamber.
